What the AI Citation Checker is
The AI Citation Checker answers a narrower question than a visibility grade: which sources do answer engines cite for your topics, and is your domain one of them? You enter up to ten topics and a domain. We send each topic to Perplexity and ChatGPT with search, collect cited sources from model APIs, and pull Google AI Overview citation domains. Results become per-topic leaderboards, a cross-topic Top 10, URL detail, and an insight line. There is no Answer-Engine Visibility score on this report.
Why AI citations matter: a mention without a citation is a name-drop. A citation is the URL the engine treats as evidence — the page a buyer or researcher can open. Winning mentions and losing the link means traffic and authority go to a review site, a publisher, or a competitor. Citation share is a digital-PR map: who the models trust as a source for your topics, and where you would need a presence to be cited next.
How the check works
Each topic is sent as the exact string you typed. Perplexity and ChatGPT citations come from model APIs, which can differ from the consumer Perplexity and ChatGPT Search products. Google AI Overview citations come from live SERP data. We aggregate cited domains across those surfaces, highlight your domain when it appears, and flag topics where you are not cited. Identical topic lists and domain inputs reuse a 24-hour cache.
On-screen leaderboards are free and public. Enter an email only if you want the PDF export. Treat each run as a snapshot: engines rotate sources. Re-check topics before a pitch or outreach list.
How to read the leaderboards
Per-topic boards show which domains were cited and how often they appeared across engines. The aggregate Top 10 is a practical outreach list — those domains are already winning the citation. URL detail shows which page was cited and for which topic. The insight line names the kind of source engines prefer for that question so you can decide whether you need a review listing, original data, or a page that leads with a direct answer.
